Welcome to the The Jewish Board’s Eighth Annual Hudson Valley Bike Ride! I am delighted to greet our returning riders and a special reception to our new riders. This year for a pleasant change we moved the bike ride to Sunday, September 18, where we can enjoy the scenic routes and great rest stops in pleasant temperatures. This year’s ride will once again start and finish at Purchase College.
My service to the Jewish Board began more than 25 years ago as a volunteer working with programs serving youths in foster care. Today, I currently serve as Chair of the Board for this great agency. It has been an honor and privilege to serve and support critically important programs that have been helping New Yorkers in need for more than 140 years. The challenges our clients and their families face are considerable, ranging from mental illnesses to developmental disabilities, economic challenges, and homelessness.
I founded this bike ride event to celebrate the work of this agency, promote the importance of both mental and physical health, and raise money at the same time. I could not be more pleased with how successful the event has been. My hope is that we will continue to come together as staff, clients, trustees, and donors old and new to have fun, reach for a goal and make the world a better place.
I look forward to meeting you and riding with you on Sunday, September 18. Thank you in advance for your efforts to help support this agency I care so much about.
